German Bakery, Pune — A Brief That Captures Its Essence
A Rich Legacy since the Late 1980s
Origins: Opened in 1988 in Koregaon Park—a posh, green neighborhood—German Bakery was founded in collaboration with a German traveler, Woody Klaus, who first started a bakery in Goa to cater to European tastes.
Vibe & Community: For decades, it has served as a lively meeting spot among college students, expatriates retreating at the nearby Osho International Meditation Resort, and families—all drawn by its friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
